Your first day at CERN will be full of interesting activities, hopefully lot of fun, and a possibility to meet many people throughout the day. 

Below is a short description on what to await.

1. Summer Student Welcome Session

Meeting the summer student team on Monday morning of your first contract day will be the first to do on your agenda. Important information will be shared during this meeting and it will also give you a chance to mingle with the other students starting on the same day. The morning session usually takes up 3 hours and is mandatory.

2. Arrival formalities

The summer student team will guide you through arrival formalities and distribute your debit cards. 

A schedule will be handed out marking when you need to go and get your CERN Access card, for which your passport/ID will be needed. Note that a photo of you will be taken.

3. Meeting your secretary

After the morning induction session it's time to meet your secretary. At this point you will receive further information on your group and may be asked to complete few more administrative formalities. 

4. Meeting your supervisor(s) and group

The well awaited moment has arrived, it's time to meet your supervisor(s) and future colleagues!

5. Start your studentship

Time to start working :-)
