Flavour Physics

by Mark Richard James Williams

Lecture content: Following the earlier lectures on the standard model from C. Grojean, this course will concentrate on some experimental aspects of flavour physics, with a focus on 'CP violation' (i.e. matter-antimatter asymmetry). I'll discuss the historical development of the fields, the current experimental status, and future prospects.

Pre-requisites: This course assumes knowledge of "The Standard Model" (C. Grojean). I recommend that you attend other courses, but they are not formally required.

No formal requirements. An excellent (but too detailed for this course) book is "Discrete Symmetries and CP violation" (Marco Sozzi, OUP 2008).

The Q&A session for this course will take place on Tuesday, 27 July 2021 at 15:00 (Europe/Zurich). Please note that registration is mandatory for the Q&A session (deadline: 24h prior to the Q&A). We encourage you to submit question(s) to the speaker via the same registration form. However, live questions will also be allowed at the end of the session.
